Same problem here...no sync since yesterday ( 6th of April 2019 ).
This is like the 3rd or 4th time I have to do the "workaround", meaning the clean reinstall ( after previously uninstalling and unpairing the devices ). I was thinking of buying a second Fitbit device, but now I'm already seriously thinking of switching to another brand. I'm guessing it started about a month ago this "strange behaviour"

If you're having problems with the Fitbit app then please include the type of device that the app is on.
As for the wallet on the ionic, if the wallet worked before then it should work now. With a payment no phone is needed. So depending on the wallet issue, it may be unrelated to the sync issue.
