Received notifications while phone on do not disturb

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Last week, I had my Moto G4 on "do not disturb."  During that time, I received a phone call notification on my Ionic.  Shouldn't the phone's do not disturb override the Ionic's notifications?  Is anybody else having this issue?

@dsobie I hope you're doing well! Your watch shouldn't receive any notifications if your phone is on "do not disturb" mode. Have you experienced this again ever since?

Is it possible that by the time you experienced this you had a previous version of the Fitbit app for Android?

If you updated the app, have you experienced that with the new app's version?

You could try turning off the "Do not Disturb" option and then turning it back on after 10 seconds. Like resetting it!

@SantiRWell timed... I couldn't hear my phone ringing and the Ionic notified me of the call (Incoming Call).. I thought it odd, and I had found I had accidentally touched, "Do not disturb" while setting the WiFi. So I can confirm that the notifications come through while do not disturb is set.  But it is set as Alarms only.. So maybe Android sees a phone call as an alarm.

Phone call notifications continue to come through.   Just to be sure,  I tested it this morning.

@dsobie @Colinm39 Thanks for providing this information. What kind of phone are you using?

Please make sure the phone model you are using is listed on the list of supported devices. If yours is not there, that could be the reason why "Do not Disturb" is not working properly.

@SantiR Thanks for the response. My phone is not on the supported list. This doesnt worry me when every other Fitbit Ionic feature I use works perfectly. As it turns out the call was important.

I'm using a Moto G4.   I checked the compatability and it's on the list.  I'm using Android 7.0.

@Colinm39 You are very welcome! I'm glad to hear that the other Ionic features are working properly for you!

@dsobie Thanks for your reply! I was checking at the list and the Moto G4 is not listed. I also use a Moto G4, I will try the "Do not Disturb" option and will let you know how it goes with mine! Are the other features working properly for you? They work fine on mine!

Errrr.  I must have selected a different Motorola.

Basically, all other notifications work with my phone and the Ionic.  The only thing that does not work is the DND.  I can simply work around this.

Thanks for your help.

@dsobie Thanks for your reply! I tried with my Moto G4 and it didn't work. Now I'm sure it is because it is not listed. However, I can work around this too!
