Receiving messages on old ionic

So a few weeks ago my mums ionic broke down. Because she was going away for the weekend and uses her Fitbit to not miss work calls, I gave her my Fitbit and ordered a Versa for myself while getting hers fixed. I deleted the ionic on my phone. And installed it on her phone as new device.

I’ve seen mum 3 days a week since then, with my phone and versa always around. I don’t  allow WhatsApp or iMessage to send updates to my fitbits. It would drive me crazy.  Mum however, does. For some reason WhatsApp hasn’t worked on her ionic yet.

Today I’m at mums house. And I see her looking at her ionic as she asks “who is AR?” I’m surprised by that, because AR is my friend whom I was just having a WhatsApp conversation with. I ask her why she’s asking, and it turns out that right now, she’s getting my WhatsApp messages on her watch.

Funnily enough my iMessage is just mine still. Mum get her on iMessages on her watch, when I receive an imessage she doesn’t get notified. Now, I could try reinstalling the ionic. But before I did I wanted to see if anyone knows what’s happening here.

I have an iPhone 8, mum has an iPhone 7 both running the newest iOS.

All I can imagine is that you phone is still bluetooth-connected to the tracker you gave your mom, though I'm not sure that would explain it all.

Check the bluetooth in your phone's settings to see if it is paired to the tracker you gave your mom.  If so, unpair it.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

@Zippora if your mum is still having notification issues after you have removed the ionic from your phones bluetooth.

I would start a new thread on your mum's issue,  you have intermixed the unrelated issues so well that it is hard to understand. Let's discuss one phone at a time,  pleaseWoman Very Happy

Thanks @JohnnyRow. That worked! It was not connected but still paired in my Bluetooth settings.

Haha @Rich_Laue No I won’t. I think it’s in her best interest not to receive notifications on her wrist every 3 seconds. My problem was that she was reading my messages. Problem solved 😊

Sorry,  @Zippora you misread me.

Your first post had two completely separate issues stated and it was nesrly  impossible to separate the issue.

I simply suggested if the was still an issue with your Mums device,  let's separate the post.

Apparently everything is good with your mum no need to request any more help.
