Dear,
When will you install the new FitbitOS version 5.1 on my Ionic and on my wife's Versa 2?
Best Regards,
Luc

I've indeed read the press release, but I also see that Versa 2 (and until recently also the Ionic) are still sold via the Fitbit store. Seems strange to leave these watches out of the future releases, no?

Not so strange and it happens (for example, Suunto and Spartan line). The end of updates doesn't mean the end of support. I believe, as long as the devices reached certain "completion" in terms of features they can offer, the only thing Fitbit may provide is bug fixing and stability improvements. Ionic and older Versas may not receive any more new feature updates, however, they still offer functionality in their full scope. The question here is whether this is a one-off case when these devices won't get an update or the update support ended permanently. Unfortunately, I don't think Fitbit will ever let users know what the current update plan is.

The biggest issue for me at this point is that, if I read documentation correctly, available apps cannot be compatible with both versions..
