Replacement Ionic will not update

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I received a replacement Ionic under UK warranty because the old one had battery drain after only 6 months.

I am trying to set up the new Ionic but I keep getting "Update Failed" when it tries to update the firmware via wifi.

I have reset the device several times and tried with both the Android and Windows 10 apps.

The wifi and internet connections are good.

I don't really want to try via Bluetooth as that will take far too long.

Can anyone help?

It's great to see you around @Neiljd. Thanks for the details mentioned and the troubleshooting tried.

I would like you to double check and perform the following once again:

  1. Make sure your watch is connected to the Wi-Fi network you want to use. For instructions on how to add a network, see How do I connect my Fitbit watch to Wi-Fi?
  2. Move your watch closer to your router.
  3. Make sure your router is connected to the internet.
  4. Restart your watch. For instructions, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
  5. Remove your watch from your Fitbit account. For instructions, see How do I remove a Fitbit device from my account?
  6. Remove your watch from the list of Bluetooth devices paired to your phone. On your phone, go to Settings > Bluetooth > find the watch in the list > find an option to forget the device.
  7. Reconnect your watch to your Fitbit account. For instructions, see How do I set up my Fitbit device?
  8. Try again to update your watch.

Let me know how it goes.

@Neiljd good luck, but you should not expect anything from Fitbit or Fitbit team. Simple, they do not care to customers.

Thanks for the replies.

I used Bluetooth in the end. It took a very long time.
