Running stride length

According to my Ionic, my running stride length is 33.5 inches. My walking stride length is 28.3 inches. I am 68.5 inches tall and 60 years old. Is 33.5 inches a normal stride length for a male of my height? I ask because I ran 6 miles on the treadmill and only got credit for 5 miles. In the past, the distance on the treadmill and on my Fitbit was the same. The Fitbit determines my stride length based on GPS runs. In my new outdoor course, the last two miles are mostly downhill. Does the Fitbit calculate my stride length based on the total run or the last mile? Could that be the reason that I have a long stride?

Hi @Bill_Payne have you calculated your stride. That would be the best way to determined your stride .

I'm 66 inches with a 31 inch walking stride.
