Should I update the firmware version?

Hi, last month my perfectly good Ionic died during the FW upgrade.. Thankfully as i live in UK I had a 2 year warranty.. after some comms Fitbit replaced my 19month old unit and it arrived in a couple of days..

I have a dilemma now - the unit is performing well BUT the FW banner has arrived, I dont really want to upgrade if its going to kill this Ionic

Advice please..

cheers

@MickYNWA Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate that you mentioned you just received a replacement.

I would recommend to upgrade your Fitbit Ionic to the latest firmware version and if found any trouble once it has been updated, you can always contact us back and we'll be glad to continue assisting you.

Before you begin the firmware update, charge your device and confirm you have the latest version of the Fitbit app installed on your phone or tablet. Note the following:

  • If you update your device at midnight (when your step count resets) you may see an inaccurate step count for 24 hours.
  • Updates may take up to an hour or more to complete.
  • Leave on all-day sync and let the Fitbit app run in the background on your phone, which allows a small portion of the firmware update to download to your Fitbit device each time you sync. To check that all-day sync is turned on: In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab SilviaFitbit_0-1572728032224.png > your profile picture > your device image > confirm All-Day Sync is on.

I'll be around if you need further assistance.
