I purchased my new Ionic 1 week ago. Since then I had only 1 night with accurate sleep travking results. Rest was only simplified tracking with last night 2 hours missing time???? I restarted the watch several times and made sure, that it was closely attached to my wrist.
Do you still have evaluation problems?

I found out, that it only works for me if I wear the watch band very tightly at night.
So that max. the little finger still fits between wrist and band.
This is a difference between the Ionic and the Alta HR. The latter can be worn more loosely.
Since I do it that way, sleep tracking works.

I see that you have the Ionic “closely attached” to your wrist. It may seem counterintuitive but make sure it isn’t too tight. I’ve found that if too tight the HR reading, which sleep analysis uses, can be impacted. I’ve taken to wearing my Ionic one notch looser, so that it can move on my wrist, rather than bear down on it. Maybe try that.

Also good to know: less then 3 hours sleep, only shows basic sleep and not advanced.
So if you wake up ever 2.5 hours, you will never see the advanced info.
Watch: Ionic
Previous watches:Pebble, Pebble Time, Samsung Gear Fit2

Ok, thanks for your reply. I tried to loosen the watch, but without success, unfortunately. It got even worse, as it tracked only 2,5 hours of 7 hours in reality (showing blank spaces in sleep graph).

@ChrisKK Ok, well I guess you had the right tightness then. So is the missing bit because The Ionic thinks you’re awake? Have you got the sensitivity correct, perhaps change that.

Hi, yes, I tried that too, but it still didn't work everyday.
Some days in the last week, I had normal sleep protocol. Other days, several hours were missing (grayed out) or I had only simple sleep protocoll.
I now escalated to Fitbit support for further investigation and did a cold reboot of my Ionic watch (= press all 3 Buttons for longer than 10 sec). I'll check next night, if it works.

Hi just wondering f your issue has resolved itself and if so did you do anymore with it.
Ie change sensitivity or anything like that.
I bought mine a week ago and only have had 1night with correct sleep patterns logged.
Thanks
Kevin
