Here's a new one.  My ionic stopped working abruptly last week while on vacation.  Did all the steps, including holding buttons while plugged in to charging cable.  Nothing.

Got back home and called to get support.  The agent asked me to plug it in and hold the buttons.  Within seconds it started smoking!  I said, "holy crap, its smoking!"  She put me on hold for five minutes and said, sorry about that, I'm going to send you an email for a return...
