So Many Issues

I got my Ionic 3 months ago and I have yet to use it to its advertised potential.

A) Will not connect to Wi-Fi at all, despite WAY too many hours attempting, so uploading music/using Pandora is impossible.

B) Half of the time, it will not connect to my phone, so I have to uninstall and reinstall everything to get it to work, which is very annoying when I want to use it, so I usually end up working out without it which is the only reason I bought it.

C) My runs do not sync to the "compatible apps." and won't even upload to Strava, the app that comes with the watch.

D) The computer app is totally useless, so I wont even bother, the only thing that has worked at all is the iPhone app.

Does anyone have any solutions. I am about 5 minutes from throwing this in the garbage and buying the Apple Watch.

If I had those problems for three months, I would get rid of it too.

A. The wifi problem is probably coming from your router. I read where some people can't connect because their wifi is only 5ghz.

B. Have you looked for specific problems/ solutions to your iphone? I believe the watch saves a certain amount of workouts over time; they do have to be synced to the app at some point, though.

C. Do you have a strava account? Have you set it up with your fitbit?

D. I think you need the computer app to upload music.

I agree that the device can be rather particular with regards to the steps necessary to get it working perfectly; however, once it is running, it works great.  You could have a bad device, though.

A) That is possible. I am on deployment, and the wifi isn't great. I initially set it up on deployment though with no issue, so I don't know. Now it wont let me use it without updating the tracker, which only fails after each attempt, so it looks like it just became a paperweight until I get home.

B) The iPhone is fine. It connects to everything else I have, and when it did connect to the watch, I synced it, so there was never much on the watch.

C) I did set up Strava, but when I go on runs, the app does nothing, nor does it track my runs, so I have no idea. I never had any problems with the run function on the watch, so I believe Strava is just trash.

D) Yea, the computer is the only way to upload music, but without a functional computer app, that has not worked. The computer app took 2.5 hours to connect to my watch, and then took 30 more minutes to sync, just to tell me to update the watch, which put it in this never-ending cycle of failed updates. The phone does the same thing now.

I have 2 friends here with the same watch and no issues, on the same wifi, so I believe this is either a defect watch, or I just had higher expectations for it. I don't have any options thought until I go home then, so I really hope I can fix this watch and use it, so it want a waste of $290

Hi @PJMilazzo,

Based on what you wrote, I would open a ticket with Fitbit Support, so they can replace it if necessary.

As for your issue with the computer app, i had a similar issue. Could it be interference from the bluetooth on your phone which is affecting your pc connection? Try turning off the bluetooth on your phone when you want to connect to PC and see if that helps.
