Step Count "Jumped"

I ran a triathlon yesterday and was recovering in a "cold plunge" pool after the race. I had a decent step count total at that point (about 27K) when I got into the tank, but when I looked again at my watch a few hours later the count "jumped" to over 58K! I figured I had at most covered another 1000 steps or so in the interim NOT the nearly 30K that were on my watch. This is the first time I knew the watch totals were wrong. Is there a way to see my data to get a corrected total. I love the extra steps but they're wrong - I wear the watch for accuracy and want to think something happened in the cold plunge pool to create an anomaly. However, the water temp was only about 5 degrees colder (at 55 degrees) in the tank than the ocean water where the swim was held (in LA which the water temp was about 60 degrees)-so I don't think that was it. Any thoughts what happened?

A warm welcome to the Community @djdaigle62. Thanks for the details that you've mentioned. Congratulations on running a triathlon. Robot Happy

It's pretty weird that your step count increased while you were in the cold plunge pool. You can correct your step count by manually logging driving. You can log it for the time that you were in the cold plunge pool and this should reduce the step count.

In the meantime, I would like you to restart your Ionic and continue monitoring your step count.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks Silvia - I'll give that a go - and yes it was very strange.

Thanks again, DD
