Steps don't match up

If I total Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday I get an accurate total. If I go to Community, Friends the total is inflated. What is going on, it's supposed to zero out Sunday and start over.  What is going on?

In Community > Friends, steps is the sum of the previous 6 days plus so far today.  At midnight, the oldest day drops off causing your total to drop, then it gradually climbs back throughout the day as today's steps get added on.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

I looked at my steps and it follows what you said but if you and I were tracking each other we wouldn't have a Sunday through Saturday total, doesn't seem like a good way to keep track of each other.

True, not a Sun-Sat total, but, to my mind, more representative to always show 6 or 7 days data, rather than sometimes just a day or 2.  In any case, that's the way it is.
