My watch is counting steps whilst driving and moving my arm

How many is it counting? Wrist worn trackers use arm movement in addition to footfall vibrations to count steps, so arm movements and bumps in the road are often misrecognised as steps. Generally it is only a few and doesnt have much significance  over a day or a week, but if they are excessive they can be annoying (and false).

Two suggestions. First restart your tracker to see if that cuts the extras down (unlikely to work if it is only a few - only useful ifbthe tracker has a glitch)

The other is you can log a Driving activity manually afterwards to negate the extra steps. On your app tap the exercise tile (running man) then the stop watch icon in the top right. On the page that comes up start typimg in driving and when the drop down list shows, select Driving (very important to not type the whole word in), fill the details and log it.

Restart your tracker

Yeah.  The restart does not work.

My Ionic logged thousands of steps just sitting at the computer.  I tried everything to resolve the problem.

Solution - Return it.  Never buy another.
