As much as I have been a fan of Fitbit products for many years, I find the Ionic pretty s- hitty, I could live with the poor sync of apps (even so I find it hilarious that the apps either have synced once, and then really doesn’t sync again I.e. Stock or the apps where the basic sync doesn’t work I.e. NYTimes, that music syncs basically doesn’t work the windows app crashes, when it tries to sync, and lack of customization for fitness programs!!!
But the fact that the watch still crashes when using the basic functionality (which is the whole purpose of buying a Fitbit tracker) walk, run, elliptical etc., that is simply not good enough - can you please use your effort to fix the basic problems and not on a lot of more functionality that doesn’t seem to work fully anyway ???

So now it has been stable (no crashes) for quite some time, and I’m again a happy Fitbit’er - still don’t care that most of the apps do not really work . . . I have a working Ionic for the daily exercise as do I fancy the Big Weather clock face, so no more complaints from me !!!!

Is it the watch or the app crashing @Pete_S, I had search you crossposting to see what the problem is.
Have you tried a restart of the watch, your watch is a little computer and like a PC or phone a restart can be very help full..
Now the restart above is a soft restart so let's also do a hard restart.. Go to settings, about, shutdown. Now press any button to start the ionic up.
If it continues to crash then let's do an add device, replacing the ionic with itself.
If this doesn't work then let's do a factory reset.
From the Ionic User Manual page 66:
Factory Reset
Factory reset Ionic to erase apps and all personal data from the device, including credit and debit cards you added for Fitbit Pay. If you want to give Ionic to another person or wish to return it for a refund, first complete a factory reset:
66
On Ionic, open the Settings app ( ) > About > Factory Reset.
If this was a universal problem this board would be flooded by now with crashing complaints. My thought is that your Ionic may have some piece of hardware not responding.

Have you shared any information with Fitbit about how it crashes?
I’m pretty sure that if they have no means of repeating it then they have no way of identifying and fixing it either.

Not sure if you are telling me basic stuff because you want to earn more community points or you seriously think that I have it reset my Ionic several times to see if that would cure the problem
I have seen several post here with exactly same problem, so not sure how many it takes before this is actually a real problem

I was telling you things that a few have found to get a tracker to to sync. Some of which Fitbit would never think of.
When you say that you resist your ionic several times @Pete_S, arecyoubsaying that you did a soft reset( hold in left and lower right buttons), hard reset(completely turned of the ionic), or a factory reset(requiring you to set it up as a replacement device)?
Also many have found that simply clearing the Fitbit apps cache is enough to get a sync.
Have you at least turned the ionic completely off?
As for community points, my record speaks for itself with 1 answer in every 23 posts an accepted solution

Well the problem is not the sync or the other challenges that we have with the Ionic, the challenge is that the Watch crashes when used for,it’s basic tracking exercises ....
