Stored music not playing

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've transferred a couple of albums on to my Ionic and connected my bluetooth earbuds, but when I go to the music app on the watch and select a track to play no sound comes out. The track selection goes purple, but nothing happens. When I first tried it I was getting a playback progress bar, but no sound. Now I don't even get that. Am I doing something wrong? The headphones are definitely connected and played the noise they do when pairing is successful...

Hello @rosshallard, welcome to the Community Forums!

I appreciate the information and details that were shared in your post. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know when was the first time you experienced this situation and how many times since then? Also, this occurs with any stored song? If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to restart your Ionic device and then check the information that's specified on: How do I listen to music and podcasts on my Fitbit watch?, and let me know how it goes.

Keep me posted and let me know if you have any additional questions.

Hi Ricardo,

Thanks for responding. This situation occurred the very first time I stored music on the device. I used the Fitbit connect app to transfer two albums. The app told me the transfer was completed but when I open the music app on my device and attempt to play anything no sound comes out to my earbuds. I cannot hear any of the music stored on my Ionic no matter which of the tracks I try to play. It behaves and looks like it might be playing but I hear nothing through my earbuds even though the Ionic tells me they are definitely connected. I have restarted the device several times. I have just noticed that the tracks in question are .m4a files. Might this be the problem? I will try with some .mp3 files tomorrow in advance of your reply.

Many thanks

Ross

Update: I deleted all the music and tried re-encoding and transferring one of the tracks onto the Ionic as a straight .mp3 but it's still not playing anything.

Update 02: Did a factory reset on the device. Uploaded a different file, but still the same problem. Please help.

Thanks for your replies and updates @rosshallard, my sincere apologies for the delay in responding.

I appreciate all the information that was shared on your posts and for troubleshooting this situation. Even though the headphones are connected, can you please try using another audio Bluetooth device? It seems that the songs are being well stored on your Ionic's memory and that the files are not corrupted, therefore, I would like to confirm if the issue is not with your current headphones so we can move forward. Please check: How do I connect Bluetooth audio devices to my Fitbit watch? for more information.

Please keep me posted, I'll be around.

Hi, Ricardo! I am having the same problem! I did what you suggested and paired my Ionic with another bluetooth audio device (speakers); this worked, no problem! However, it still will not play my stored music through my paired Galaxy ear buds. I have tried unpairing and repairing them a few times but still no luck. Any ideas? Thanks for your help!
