Strap/band ionic

Hi I’m new to Fitbit  and just bought a ionic and was just wondering ...I bought a protective ruggered black case/strap off Amazon it’s not a genuine fitbit accessory but you insert the ionic watch face into the case/strap from behind but the straps don’t click into the holes that the original straps do they’re just open but covered by the case(not sure if it’s watertight), does this affect the waterproofing at all? Like do you need to have straps-bands clicked in to make it fully sealed? Might sound like a stupid question but didn’t want to wear it in the pool and kill it after 2 days of owning it.

🤣🤣 Yes it would be a real shame to kill it! But the waterproofing will be fine without the original band. Happy swimming!
