I have linked my Fitbit and strava apps numerous times - any runs I record on my ionic appear on my strava app on my phone so I know they are linked. However - I can’t view the runs on the strava app on the actual Fitbit. If I’m unable to view the runs I plan on returning the Fitbit. Anyone have any advice? Thanks

Hello @Cak3888 have you connected your Ionic Strava app to your Strava account?
This is found in the Strava app settings under the list of apps installed on the Ionic .

Hello @Cak3888 and Welcome. @Rich_Laue gives some great advice and as an Ionic owner who also uses Strava, I hopefully, can also provide some assistance. Please check to ensure your Strava account is showing your exercise as "RUN" if you are using the FREE Strava account. I noticed that when I went for "WALKS", the Strava App would get the info from my Ionic, HOWEVER, the Strava App on my Ionic was NOT showing anything. Than one day (just for the heck of it), I edited one of my exercises on the Strava App and changed my Walk to a RUN and BINGO, after everything sync'd up, my RUN now appeared on my Ionic's Strava App. Now ALL of my RUNS appear on my Ionic, which is pretty cool... Hope this helped and keep on STEPPING!

If you go to Strava.fitbit website and connect the two devices as well as leaving your Strava app open on the ionic it will display on watch. Once connected on website come out of your Strava watch app and go back into it and it should be displayed.

Through Strava the user does not connect their two devices. They connect their Strava account to their Fitbit account .
The Strava app on the Ionic is a completely separate app, not being linked to Fitbit, and just like the Strava app on your phone, the user still has to log this Strava app into your Strava account

Hi I have got my Strava account showing as authorised on the Fitbit app and on my Strava account it looks like it's linked to Fitbit but when I select Strava on my ionic it still won't work and shows the message to link accounts. I don't understand what else I need to do.

Hello @AliM25
Please go into your Strava App and verify that "Fitbit" is connected. To do this follow here:
1. Open the Strava App (on your phone or computer - NOT the Fitbit App or Ionic)
2. Select Settings in the bottom right corner (Triple Dots)
3. Select "Applications, Services, and Devices"
4. Ensure Fitbit is listed
Please post back your results. Hopefully this will show us the connection status and solve the issue. If not, I'll provide further assistance. Thanks and keep on STEPPING!

Hi @AliM25
Good find. I use Strava and it works well, but it will only display what the Ionic provides. So now that you have your Strava account connected, your GPS activities will port over (all behind the scenes) to Strava. You should get an alert from the Strava App (Phone/Computer) once the activity is ready for viewing. The two work very well together and you can view your Strava results on your Ionic from the Strava App. I think you found the problem and shouldn't have any further issues, but if you do, please post back and I'll be more than happy to provide assistance!
Thanks and have a safe and Happy New Year!

@AliM25 the Strava app on the Ionic could be considered a read only app, displaying data that has already been recorded to your Strava account.
Does it really need to be able to record a run/ride/etc? Your ionic is already capable of doing this and if your accounts are connected the recorded ride will be sent to your Strava account.
When it comes to the ionic strava app, this soapp independent of the Strava app on the phone and the Fitbit Strava link.
You need to, if you haven't, log into your Strava account on this ionic Strava app.

“thought I would select start through Strava on the watch”
Nope. Does not allow that unfortunately. My expectation was the Strava app would log and add the exercise like the mobile app. But no dice with the Ionic. For me was a major disappointment.
The Strava app is very dumbed down and only shows on the Ionic after you upload sync to Fitbit -> then Fitbit upload syncs to Strava -> then Strava computes the GPS data and download syncs back to Fitbit -> then Fitbit download syncs back to your Ionic.
Then and only then will your exercise show up in the Strava app. But you must log in. Do note sometimes you may have to do other steps to get the functionality to work properly. But in most cases this should work if you sync it multiple times.
So no mini-Strava of the mobile app unfortunately. That was my expectation as well. Too bad. Going thru this process is a pain -> but in the end something will pop up on the Ionic for you to look at. Just do not expect much. Just a tiny line map and a few line item details.

I’m still having this problem with my ionic watch. On both the Fitbit and Strava apps, it says that I’m authorized and they are connect but it will not display my runs on my Ionic watch.

@AliM25 as @Whistler888 and I have mentioned above, the Strava app on the Ionic simply looks at your Strava Dashboard. It will not record a Walk,/run/bike ride, You may use the Strava app to do this or link your Strava account up to your Fitbit account, then your GPS recorded run or bike ride will get synced to Strava and then the Strava app on the Ionic will display what has been synced to our recorded by the Strava app.
The advantage of the Strava Ionic so is that the user is able to compare matched runs to see the improvements

I linked my fitbit and my strava accounts and I linked the strava app on the ionic to the strava account. I was having the same issue of not being able to see summaries on my watch.
I uninstalled strava app from ionic and then reinstalled it. It saved all my information and I did not have to reauthorize my account. I was then able to see my most recent runs on my watch. I believe the fitbit acct and strava need to be attached/linked BEFORE you attach the watch app to strava. Just a minor goof.
