I officially hate the update, is there anyway to get the short cut back on the watch so I can quickly look and see how many floors I have climbed without having to look on my phone. I used that feature all the time and now it is gone.

Slide Up from Fitbit, you will go to the "Today Screen" then swipe Left on the calories screen.. Make sure the finger is in the middle then swipe left

I agree with you; this is too much. Also, can someone tell me what happened to the auto/manual setting. I can't find it.

Quick fix is to use a watch face which shows that information on it.
