Swim tracking

Hi there,

Just looking for some info on the iconic fitbit swim tracking before I purchase.

Does anyone know if the GPS tracking will showup if you do a swim in the ocean?

@Kiara13, if you use the Swim exercise mode, the GPS and Heart Rate Monitor are not used.

@AlexandraFitbit are you sure about HR? Beacause the company claims the opposite 😆

@SunsetRunner, the Ionic manual shows that the Ionic does not use the HR during swims:

Page 45 - No Heart Rate listed for Swim

Page 49 - No Heart Rate listed for Swim

The point is that the Heart Rate Monitor and GPS are disabled with the Swim Exercise Mode.  I trust the user manual, rather than a social media post.

Most of people see the user manual after unboxing the product and they have no reason not to trust company's official communication channel which nowadays social media is. Maybe it is just me and others don't see a problem with company lying about essential feature of expensive product.
