The thread is closed about syncing problems saying that it has been resolved....except of course, it hasn't been resolved. It STILL won't sync.
YES, I have tried everything in the help article, I have done everything and it STILL won't work consistently.
HELP!

It seems like the app pages and actual background sync process are out of sync, no pun intended. Very often I see a message like "Ionic: Looking..." and the spinner spinning, only to go back to the Dashboard and see everything has been updated. Go back to the device page, and it says "Synced moments ago"
But I totally agree: the sync is extremely flaky and appears to run at its own pleasure. Sometimes it runs every few minutes, sometimes it won't run for hours. Kicking it off manually appears to do next to nothing most of the time. "Scheduling"... Yeah, right. Reminds me of original Garmin Vivoactive back in 2015. Looks like Fitbit has been regressing in this area, sadly.
What's strange is that real-time metrics like current heart rate and notifications and even background app updates like Weather and transactions for Fitbit Pay work just fine. So, clearly there's a good persistent connection between Ionic and the phone.

Yep, having the same issues. Had to re-boot it this morning and it did sync, but now won't again.
I get an error message saying bluetooth not switched on, but of course it is.
Hopefully it's a temporary bug that they'll sort out soon.

When all else fails, RESET (Press and HOLD the left and bottom right buttons together, until the fitbit icon appears, then release). The reset has always worked for me when things get hookie and hopefully will for you as well!!

Same problem here.
I Finally got it to sync and download (After 3 days of nothing) and was all excited. After a hour of download. My watch had a face finally. I was Truly excited and then Bluetooth stopped again. My WiFi locations were fine on download, but after which are no longer found so cant download music and weather or a new face or anything. So after 2 hours AGAIN of this bull i went to bed. This morning I'm off work so did some research to find ionic not compatible with my droid or WiFi or even my Aria scale. In order to use this i would need to spend over a grand to upgrade items that work just fine with everything else i own and just "Hope" that they are compatible!!!!!???!!
Besides all of that. When I tried to change the band to the small, one strap was broken right out of the box. Would not snap on. The large went back on fine. Plus I paid for next day shipping and it arrived 4 days later.
So I'm done.
Credit card notified. Will be sending back.

Thanks brother, but that didn't work either. Very frustrated with this Ionic.

It seems as though this is a widespread issue, and I would suspect a known issue, as several people (myself included) have been having trouble with the sync process. I do agree that it is a communication issue with the device and the Fitbit servers...mine keeps saying "Looking" or "Syncing" on all my devices, but nothing happens.
What some people have found helpful, and I've found helpful from time to time is to tell the phone to forget the Ionic and then repair it with the phone. It might be worth a shot if you haven't tried it.

The Ionic doesn't work with the Aria scale ? I was hoping to get the Ionic but I don't want to have to buy and set up a whole new scale for my setup to keep working.

None of the Fitbit trackers "work with" the Aria or Aria 2 scales. The scales are separate devices that sync directly with Fitbit's servers via Wi-Fi and have no interactions with the trackers. There is no reason you can't continue to use your existing Aria scale.
