So the tennis app is cool for keeping g score and maybe getting some stroke related feedback...... HOWEVER..... You can't use the app if you have starred a workout.
I have tennis as a workout shortcut as the data is better than when it is auto-recorded.
Is there any possibility of opening apps during workouts in the future.

Maybe im confused. But if you start an app there should be no way to add the exercise as well. Why would you want both?
If you explain better maybe we can help

I can open the Fitbit app and start recording.
I can also open up Runkeeper and start it at the same time

What @racertempo means is, if you start a workout on the Ionic via the exercise shortcuts, there is no way of doing anything else on the device eg. Opening another app. The only way to do this at the moment would be to end the workout and then open said app. I agree, it would be nice to have basic multitasking on the device.

@WendyB if you start "Exercise" and select Tennis there is no way to keep this tracking and go to the FitBit Labs Tennis app. The tennis app tracks game score and serves/forehands/backhands, not just steps and heartrate etc. This should be bundled together in some way.

@MrMannilowI am aware of that. You choose one of them not both
