Text Message Notifications are a usability nightmare.

Say I have 7 unread text messages. If I receive a new text message I receive notifications that I have 8 unread text messages and the contents of each of the 8 messages. If I receive another text message I receive notifications that I have 9 unread text messages and the contents of the 9 messages. Et cetera.

I don't read me text messages on the phone because I've read them on my watch. 

If I do read the text messages on my phone, for each message I read I receive a notification stating the number of remaining unread text messages and the contents of all the unread messages. WTF?!

And, as others have already mentioned, there is no way to clear all of the notifications on the watch except to scroll to the BOTTOM of all of the notifications to find the clear all notifications button.

I'm afraid if the clear option was at the top of the list then too many folks would find it easy to erase without viewing.  I do really, really like the notifications on/off being a right swipe instead of a down swipe, if I had a nickel for every time I accidentally switched off notifications on my Blaze.... 

My daughters are the wild and crazy text'rs of the family and they usually come in in a flurry, I like the review and then clear all feature at the bottom of the list so we'll have to arm wrestle with each other to see who gets the developers ear @SunsetRunner - heh

The messaging on the ionic is pretty bad. 
i have two changes that need to be made: 

1. i'm often communicating in group chats with about 5 ppl. The Ionic messaging shows allllll 5 numbers on notification. There is no need for this. A note should be taken from the Microsoft Band 2, which would display the 1st number in the group and "(555) 444-333...+4" to indicate there other numbers in the text. This method left the majority of the screen space for the actual text msg! 

Please truncate the phone numbers for MMS/group messages so that message is given screen priority over the included phone numbers

2. the notification clear button could also be achieved by some other means than scrolling to the bottom...maybe a long press on a notification...or swiping left or right from any notification to get the prompt...or even a double tap... anything... I agree, going all the way to the bottom when you have a lot of notifications is not useful.
