Text Preview on Ionic

On an iPhone7:

Pre-update: Receive texts on phone and it also shows on my watch.  I have my phone set to show only that a text was received-the phone does not display the text for privacy reasons.  The whole text appears on my watch (I don't mind this because with a quick swipe I can make it go away quickly enough).

Post update:  The only way I am able to receive texts on my watch is if the settings on my phone are set to show the entire text message on the screen-not the contact only, but the contact and their whole text.  This defeats the privacy purpose.  

When I contacted Fitbit, they said this was an apple issue. Please advise how to make this change to work like it did before the update.This feature being available is what sold me on the Fitbit.  I want a watch for the fitness portion, but I would like the small text feature.  I do not care to call or text others back (which is why i didn't go for the iwatch.  However, if this isn't available, then I might as well check into iwatch options 😞

@llsocia Welcome to the Community. I appreciate that you mentioned you're using an iPhone 7. 

Your feedback regarding how notifications works now is appreciated. Thanks for letting me know that it used to show you the notifications but after the update, you have to change it to show the entire text message. 

In order to receive notifications, you could change it to when unlocked, this way you will receive the notification but it will show "You have a notification". Learn more about it by checking this article: How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device?
