The touch screen on my ionic doesn’t respond and I’ve been unable to record workouts. Also randomly shuts down and restarts on its own.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, certainly your device isn't working as the way it was designed. If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to try our factory reset process following the next steps:
Take in consideration that a factory reset deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account and your applications, alarms, etc.
