Tracking football (using run option leaves me wanting)

Hey guys

I've been using the run tracking to track my performance when training and playing football, but the data is more or less useless. Sure it tracks distance and pace, BPM, GPS data and what you'd need for running but besides bpm and distance it's irrelevant.

What I would love is

Primary areas covered

Top speed

Acceleration/deceleration

Sprints (speed, number of, distance, location data specifically for those data points)

Possibility to register data for 1. and 2. half instead of everything as a whole

Possibly also adding # of tackles, turning speed, direction changes etc. While the Ionic may not be the obvious wearable choice for footballers I get away with wearing it taped to my lower back during matches and training and having the opportunity to track performance would be greatly appreciated - even if you just do it for wrist based tracking 😉

A football or soccer mode should not be a problem.. I found a request for football on the Blaze and Charge 2.

The run was never designed to track football.. First there is no way the stride will be usable so without the phone I pretty much doubt distance will be close.

@Rich_Laue I figure that since it comes with a built-in GPS, distance should be fairly easily meadured.  And it also comes with an accelerometer and altimeter so I can't see why it should be so  difficult for the good folks at Fitbit to include football/soccer tracking
