Transfer iTunes playlists to ionic - unsupported file types

I am currently losing the will to live whilst attempting to transfer music to my ionic (the main reason for choosing Fitbit).

Can someone tell  me why 99% of my iTunes .mp4 library is apparently unsupported file types when transferring to the ionic?

They are .mp4 files. Should I be checking something else?

I could get sidetracked into a discussion about how appallingly bad the transfer process is in 2018 but I realise that has probably been done to death but if someone could give me a steer with this it might just prevent an ionic being dumped in the canal!

thanks

Hi @planetdek,

MP4 is only supported when it uses AAC audio. Can you confirm whether this is the case with your MP4 files?

Also, take a look at this thread for details on setting up music on the Ionic:

Hi

TBH I have no idea. All I do is load an audio cd and import into iTunes with all the default settings. I believe this is AAC. Once imported add it to a playlist and then try and load it on the ionic. It creates a list with X next to all the tracks "unsupported file types". The file properties are MP4. I have successfully transferred MP3 files as a test. When I contacted Fitbit they suggested converting my whole library to MP3 and then everything would be fine. When I asked how I was to do that I was basically told to Google it. I cannot believe it is this difficult. God help anyone under 30 who has never owned a CD!
