Fitbit Pay - Guess I should have looked at the fine print.  Was disappointed, was really looking forward to using this.  I had been hesitant to use other pay methods like this but thought, finally, a fitbit I can swim in, and I can use as my bank card.  Bummed, I went through the process adding my card, it looked great I see my banks logo, I see my card info... then BOO!

Uh oh! Looks like we don't support this card for use with Fitbit Pay.

Why????????????????????  The bank is one of the largest... come on already.  This is a major let down.

Please say there is an ETA on adding banks to the supported list!  At east the top 3!!!!

Presumably other banks will be added as and when they agree to support Fitbit Pay. There’s not exactly a lot Fitbit can do to drive any of this (other than ask nicely which I’m pretty sure they’ve probably done already). All the power lies with the banks.

It may do more good if you could actually chase your bank on this!

@SunsetRunner, I was thinking of opening an account with them too.  How are you finding them, or is it too early to say?  (Did they send you a card straight away?)

I'd like to be able to use my American Express card because it gives me British Airways miles.

@Julia_G No complaints so far. Set up was a breeze, the card came in days and even before it came they gave me a virtual card to use in the Apple Wallet on the phone. Money transfer is equally easy. I like the daily spend tracking in the app too. Can see myself using the account a lot, especially noting  how easy the card on the Ionic is  to use.

Only thing to note is the card is a debit not credit card, so you need funds in the account to use it.

My credit cards aren't supported yet, both are on the top 10 list of credit card issuers (by transaction volume, not size of bank).

Both Apple and Google have been very active signing up banks in the US, with Apple Pay having 2000+ financial institutions, and Android Pay having 1000+ participating institutions.

When Ionic launched, Fitbit CEO reported he plans on rolling out NFC to other trackers. I'm assuming Fitbit will be actively signing up banks and I hope we see updates soon.

Called bank today... already have Android Pay, Apple Pay,  and that Fitbit Pay is in the works... later this year... ??? Hope that means before Jan 2018... and not Dec 2019!

I would recommend checking out our feature suggestion board and adding your preferred bank to the list. This is the best way for our team to gauge interest for new banks to be added.

Not sure why Chase is not on the list of banks for FitBit given it is the largest ranking bank in the northern hemisphere next to BoA, which is listed, yet Wells Fargo coming in 3rd is not.  What is the status of this?  At this point I'm taking my new Ionic back since the functionality I mainly purchased for is useless...

I purchased my Ionic yesterday and was severely disappointed!  Banks, the music ability, and the app selection!  Taking it back today as well!

Just wanted to jump in here to provide a quick update. 

Wells Fargo Visa cards are now able to be added to your Fitbit Wallet! So if you have a Wells Fargo Visa, feel free to add it and start using Fitbit Pay on your Ionic.

Hi all! Just wanted to jump in here to provide a quick update. 

I am excited to announce that Chase is now officially supported by Fitbit Pay! So, if you have a Chase Visa card, it can now be added to your Fitbit Wallet. 

I can also see that there was some interest in Wells Fargo that was voiced in this forum. I can confirm that Wells Fargo has been added to Fitbit Pay as well!

If your bank has not yet been added to Fitbit Pay, I recommend casting adding your bank or casting a vote in our Feature Suggestions forum. You can find the full list of Fitbit Pay compatible banks, by following this link.

I think in 2020 we no longer have problems with Fitbit Pay and banks.
