Unable to connect device to WiFi network

I am having trouble connecting my Fitbit Ionic to wifi. When I go to add a wifi network I get a Bluetooth is off message. I made sure to purchase the Fitbit Bluetooth dongle for my computer. Everything on the Fitbit app is telling me that the watch is connected via Bluetooth except when I go to connect to wifi. Is this a normal issue?

Had the same issue and found that I could sync my Ionic using the Windows 10 app and Fitbit Base Station Dongle but the Windows 10 app would not communicate with the Ionic for setting up the WiFi. I found that if I used my Android phone and the Android phone app I could set up the WiFi with no problem. I next removed the Fitbit Base Station Dongle from the laptop and attached a Bluetooth 4.0 LE USB device. After paring the Ionic using the laptop Bluetooth device I was able to both sync and set up the WiFi. It looks to me the software routines for WiFi Windows app does not or can not communicate using the Fitbit Base Station Dongle.
