I've got it set up for controlling music on my phone, and the Bluetooth connection to the "classic" controls is actually more stable than it was on OS1. I can get to the "Music Controls" screen, and then... it's stuck on "Start playing music on your phone". The little green phone icon shows it's connected, and if I press the right-side buttons, the volume on my phone changes, but that's all I can do. I can't find a way to play/pause/skip or view the playing track.
Anyone else running into this?

I have the same exact problem. I have Ionic, Essential phone with Android 8.1.0 and Spotify.
I looked online an didn't find anything. Hopefully someone from Fitbit can help!

I've got the same problem. I guess the software is broken for this feature...

Same issue. Nexus 6P with Android 8.1. Volume control works with hw buttons when the phone icon is green but 9 times out of 10 there are no controls - only the text "Start playing music on your phone" while it's already playing. Toggling Bluetooth on/off and toggling between the music sources on the watch sometimes produces the controls on to the watch screen but the next time you open the screen they are gone again.

Same here: Won't work as expected.
But after switching between clock and smartphone will bring the screen sometimes.

Plus one to this. Exact same issue. It's notc more reliable with track names than 1.0, but the controls vanish until you toggle sources

Same here. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 8, and ever since I bought this Fitbit Ionic two weeks ago, I've had issues with the Music Control.
It's amazing to me that Fitbit has trouble implementing such a BASIC feature robustly in their Software such as this on their 'flagship' Smartwatch... This is beyond despicable... Will definitely be returning this piece of junk if this doesn't somehow get magically get fixed within the next two weeks. I don't have much hope of Fitbit surviving as a Company if they are making products that are so flaky on basic smartwatch functionalilty... Don't have any expectation from this company to survive against Apple, Samsung, and Huawei if they are unable to get their act together and fix basic issues such as this!

Same issue here with my Samsung Note 8. Literally every other device I've owned has never had problems handling this. From the cheapest bluetooth headset, to every smart watch I've had. I'm in utter awe at how this was bungled on this watch.
