I have an ionic. For a couple of years I've had the full sleep pattern recording. Since May 15 21, I have received the "simplified" recording, it now being Oct 20 (except for 1 night). The reason given is (usually), "Your tracker couldn't get a consistent heart rate reading while you slept". Under advice from fitbit, I have tried sensitive setting (which said I got less sleep, but didn't change from simplified), restarting the watch and the app, factory resetting the ionic, reinstalling the app. I frequently clean the sensors and the contacts in the charging port. I am sleeping >4 hours a night, the watch is charged not critical. I get heart rate patterns consistent with the exercise that I am doing, so in other aspects it is operating normally. I've seen numerous discussions, but none solve the issue for me.
What does the message mean, sort of more exactly?
Is there anything else I can do?

Hi there @davidnicholas59.
Thanks for the detailed information shared and for all the troubleshooting that you have tried so far. I understand where your concern is coming from. As you may know Fitbit estimates your sleep stages using a combination of your movement and heart-rate patterns while you are sleeping. Several factors can affect heart rate, including air temperature, stress level, alcohol or caffeine intake, immune response to illness, and medication use
Spikes in your heart rate during sleep may be caused by sudden movements (for example, waking up and getting out of bed), or a weak signal due to wrist placement. To get more information about heart rate Review our tips in How do I improve the accuracy of a heart-rate reading?
Additionally, I'd recommend trying the following steps to make sure your heart rate is working:
On a side note, I've moved your post to the Ionic board to keep our forums organized.
Hope this helps.
