The Ionic counted steps overnight while charging. Was told to use the Driving log to reset the step count. It didn't negate anything. Technical support for this device is subpar.

@Katiemay21 I believe the issue with steps while driving is still an issue (I can't say it affects me that much so I am talking about what I've read). You don't say what phone you're using but I know that there is an iPhone app available called DriveBit that you can use that negates steps while driving. Perhaps you can use it while charging. How good it is, I've no idea, just passing on the info to try and appease your frustration.

Hi @Katiemay21 & @SunsetRunner,
I thought DriveBit was an Android app? I believe there's an iOS app that does the same thing, but can't think of it's name.
The Driving activity does work--I've seen it in action. It's just that it's not very intuitive. In the Log Activity box at the bottom of the page in the web dashboard, you have to type "Dr" (no quotes) and select the auto-complete Driving from the drop-down menu. Typing "Driving" in the box apparently does not register to negate steps, which is why it's sometimes seen as not working. It took a few community members showing me how it works to see that it does work.
