Unable to setup Ionic and battery drain

Well my ionic last synced at 8:17pm yesterday after a lot of waiting and attempts and it was well over 20 minutes slow. I have had a few days of these problems, but now it is even worse!

When it synced last night the time did correct itself. Now it is 15 hours later and it has lost another 35 minutes - how can this be possible in such a short time?

Even the cheapest mickey mouse watches can keep much better time.

  • I have got the latest android app from the play store on my phone - a Samsung Galaxy S9 with latest firmware.
  • I have uninstalled & re-installed the app, but this made no difference and my phone can not find the device.
  • I have also tried connecting to a Samsung Galaxy S5, but again it can not find the device.

This used to work fine with both phones, now the auto turn on function has stopped working, but the ionic is still in auto mode. I fully charged the ionic this morning at : 9:00am - it was on 100% then - now it is already down to just 46%.

I have had this ionic for just over 1 year - it was a replacement direct from fitbit after 3 faulty blaze models. My wife has a Charge 3 - this suffered the same problem of not syncing and losing time earlier this month, along with a charging contact falling of the fitbit.

Hi @Russell_UK, welcome to the Community Forums, it's a pleasure to help you today!

First, I'd like to appreciate your effort and patience troubleshooting this situation prior to posting, totally understand how frustrating this matter can be for you. If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check all the information that's specified on: How do I set up my Fitbit device? to check if all the requirements are correctly configured to setup your device. Then, you can move forward to the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes.

Also, let me share with you that the battery of our Ionic device battery was designed to last 5 days but this also depends on how frequently you use it’s features. That said, I recommend you charging your Fitbit device with a USB port from a computer or a UL-certified outlet into the wall and then turn off all the features that you don’t use that much. After doing so, please this help article for more tips and recommendations.

I'll be around if you need anything else, thanks for your feedback.

Please keep me posted.
