I’ve been trying to complete the latest update multiple times over the past few weeks unsuccessfully. I’ve reset my phone and Fitbit. Tried using Bluetooth and wi fi. I think I’ve exhausted all tips I’ve found. In addition to this when I try to tap workout or coach from the ionic it doesn’t do anything. I can hold it down and move it but that’s about all. Super frustrating since I loved the ionic the first month of using it and now I feel I’ve spent $300 on a fancy watch. Please help!!!!

I am in the same boat: After several messages saying I needed to up date the firmware but nothing happening, I finally started the update with my phone and Ionic sitting next to each other and both plugged in as directed. Tried 3X and always got "Update failed" message. I no longer have that notification but now things don't work. My version is 27.31.1.16. (I don't know if that's the new version or not so I don't know if the update was successful or not) I had to install a new clock face. My Exercise and Coach icons no longer work, which I was using almost daily. I have connected to wifi through my phone, but the connection only lasts a few moments for the phone and the watch. I have done several shut-downs and nothing changes. I'm considering a Factory reset.
Prior to the update I had the same issues with erratic HB readings, but no other issues.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

My Version is 31.1.29. I’m assuming a factory reset wIll erase all dada correct? Hopefully someone chimes in with a way to fix this!

My firmware is 27.32.4.19 and my coach will also not update, I had the same problem with the update not working and it was very frustrating. I spent 4 days with help people on chat trying to get it to work and that is the one thing that still doesn't work totally. There are smaller things that don't work as well like syncing and some notification issues, but those seem minor.
If you think its an update issue with the overall update I would recommend what in the end worked for me which was that factory reset. If you have synched up so that that day's data has been saved you won't lose anything when you do it other than the time that you are taking up with the update. I also made sure that everything stayed awake the whole time and that I watched the progress to make sure that it was going through and that was the only way that it happened for me.
I don't use the coach and mine hasn't been updating, but it also works in some capacity without that update so it might be that you need a new update to get it to work at all. You could always ask the opinion of the chat people and then go from there.

Thank you! I think I’ll attempt a factory reset today and hope that does the trick.
