Well, after resisisting updates for months because of all the problems I read, I made the mistake of updating last night after getting fed up with seeing the red arrow on my app. I did the update at about midnight. My Ionic has been working for many months without problems.I took it off charge at about 01:00 this morning.
It updated OK and all seemed well, but when I checked my sleep pattern after syncing this afternoon, it showed only the dark blue line with the correct start and finish time. I didn't do anything assuming an annoying bug that would get sorted out, until 15:00 today, when I couldn't get the time or anything else to show, as if the battery was flat. The app showed that the battery was full at 13:00 whenit must have done an auto-sync, though it had been running for 12 hours since the last charge, so I would have expected 90% or similar.
I put it on charge and it showed 0%. I checked again after a few minutes of charging and it still showed 0%. After another 10 minutes, I couldn't get it to show anything. I fiddled around with it and lef it on charge, and after a few minutes, the Fitbit logo appeared for a few secs then a grey screen for a bit longer then lack again. A couple of minutes later, without touching it, the logo and grey screen appeared again. Now it's permanently black.
Anybody got any ideas before I kick myself to death for being so stupid to do an update when it was working?

Sorry to hear that. Don’t beat yourself up for updating, it’s fitbit dev that are the ones to blame. Products should get updates, the whole nature of an update is to fix and introduce new features and not break a device.
Have you tried cleaning the connection contacts ?

They looked clean, but I just made sure by cleaning them properly, when I noticed condensation on the inside of the glass where the heart-rate LEDs are. I guess that's not a good thing!

If I put it on charge, sometimes after about a minute, the screen lights up with a uniform dim grey for about 10 to 20 seconds, then goes off. Does anybody know what that means?
