The new update has killed my IONIC. It won't start, not even on restart attempt or even when charging. It began with syncing and bluetBlue connection issues, which resooveron rebooting. Then next morning upto a dead Fitbit Ionic.

Yep that has been reported dozens of time in this Help Forum.  Call Tech Support right away and see if they will replace it or give you a refund.  My first Ionic was defective and replaced in the first week of ownership.  QC and reliability are very suspect especially after the 3.0 firmware update.

Really there is no need to suffer in Frustration - simply call Tech Support at 877-623-4997 and get your Ionic replaced right now while you can
Many have followed this straightforward advice and now have a replacement Ionic - we all should have “zero tolerance” for any defective Ionic

Yup, the last update blacked mine out. After an hour on the phone with Fitbit, all they could do was offer me a discount on another one since I was out of the warranty period. The same occurrence happened to the friend that got one just before me, leading me to buy one. I would say that is poor form since their updates have been notorious for failing parts, if not all capability of the ionic over the last year and a half that I've had it. They should just be replacing them. So, I will not get another and I'm passing my story around to urge others not to as well.
