On and off on my past few runs the Ionic GPS goes out and instead of showing the distance it just says searching, while i am training for a marathon and relying on the watch to get my training runs accurate this is very frustrating.
I'm wondering if there is a way to use the Fitbit app run feature (use the phone's GPS b/c it seems to be more reliable at least it was with other running apps before I started using my Fitbit ionic GPS) and then have the watch just display the run stats (pace/distance) from the phone?
Similar set up to Pebble with Runkeeper, where the phone is the main device recording everything then the watch is just a "remote" to show stats and pause the run.

Hi @tkaput, welcome to the community.
Unfortunately what you describe isn't possible. You can use the mobile run feature to track your workout, and it will combine the HR data from your fitbit after you finish, but it's not possible to have the fitbit show live data in this set up.
If you're wanting to use the phones GPS as the primary source then there are a few fitbits that are available that do this via connected GPS (Versa, Charge 3, Charge 2, Blaze).
You may also wish to vote for this feature suggestion, although it says its currently not planned.
