Vibration unusually loud

Hi, I bought my Fitbit ionic about 5days ago.

The vibration is set to normal but it makes almost a whine/scratchy/rattle sound, louder when set to max.

The sound you wouldn’t expect if you took it off and had it vibrate against a glass or plastic surface.

It hasn’t been dropped or has a single mark.

Is anyone else’s vibration loud? It doesn’t seem normal to me to be able to hear the vibrating sound while it’s on my wrist when I get a message.

I also tried taking the strap off and it’s still just as loud.

Thanks

Brendan

Yes! I'm experiencing the same thing.. There's a rattling sound as if it's vibration for against a hard surface. Is this a defect or is this the way its supposed to be?

Mine also rasps/ rattles loud like it's vibrating on a hard surface.  it sounds like it's loose. It hasn't effected anything though, I've assumed it's a little quirk...

I'm not that impressed with the noise.
People in meetings can hear the device vibrate repeatedly and its a distraction for everyone around me.

I think I wish I had that problem. When running and I get to the pre-set mile it has a very weak, almost unnoticeable, vibration- with vibrations set for strong. My Garmin VVA is very noticeable in comparison.

Here's a video of what it sounds like..

That’s on normal vibration:

Anyway, Fitbit tech support basically said because it doesn’t impact the performance they don’t care.

My manager even made a complaint to me and said it’s rather annoying.

Very happy I bought it at my local department store Im returning it tomorrow.
