Fitbit, in conjunction with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a voluntary recall of Fitbit Ionic smartwatches, which the company introduced in 2017 and stopped producing in 2020. The battery in the Ionic smartwatch can overheat, posing a burn hazard.
The health and safety of Fitbit users is our highest priority. We are taking this action out of an abundance of caution for our users. We will offer a refund to Fitbit Ionic customers.
This voluntary recall is specific to Fitbit Ionic devices. It does not impact any other Fitbit smartwatches or trackers.
If you have an impacted Fitbit Ionic device, please stop using it and visit our webpage where you’ll find:

@Scottsaiyan @Because the company dealing with the recall don’t have access to the money, they need to apply to fitbit for that who will then verify it and authorise the funds for release and transfer the money to them which won’t be a immediate transaction and then they will pass on the refund to yourself which again won’t be immediate transaction

The same happened to me - PayPal transferred the money in my own currency to my bank immediately when I asked them to - after one day it was on my account. Thank you to Fitbit for clearing up on all this.

I refreshed the Fitbit webpage and despite not seeing any options to view any devices or accessory bands I noticed that the three items I had previously added to my basket were still there so was able to complete my purchase - not the best experience but at least I've managed to make a purchase with the discount.
As an aside, I confirmed eligibility for refund on the 6th March and today (31st March) received notification of refund to my PayPal account so am just awaiting confirmation of actual amount after actual currency conversion

In the UK, we received a scam looking email telling us we had to have a 'B4B' credit card, which you had to apply for.
No alternative but to apply for this credit card.
When you click on the drop down boxes to apply for a card, it's all greyed out.
Scam.

@dasboot I had one from them in 2018 and can assure you it wasn’t a scam and others have received one in last few days and worked fine. I’m expecting mine in next couple of days as received email on 6th March saying payment in next 3-6 weeks so will post when comes through

@dasboot try reaching out to someone who has received the card as it look as if somehow you might be on the wrong section as your in the “interested in applying for card” bit. When mine came through years ago it was really simple but I did on my phone as opposed to computer or tablet. There are a few if you scroll back who have received their card and I should get mine any day now in which case I’ll reply to you the answer, but have a fiddle as they are the company who do the cards on behalf of fitbit and you do need to have phone number attached to card for the one time passcode as required now by all card holders

I received this email:
When I click the link it says:
I'm still waiting for the extra band I ordered and I missed out on the 12 months free Premium, all because this has been handled so poorly and unprofessionally. Fitbit's image and goodwill are both being trashed by Sedgwick.

I have tried several times to get my ionic registered. But the site won’t let me verify I’m not the only one in my family affected. My son and partner are having the same problem. Help plz

I received a similar email for an amazon card but it has a link pointing to a different company. I am afraid to click it in case it is a scam. Did your's work?
--------------
UPDATE: I clicked the link for the amazon card and it worked.
I am from Canada as well.

@Peach
Hi
I received the same email yesterday and the link says the same. Mine is almost at the 24 hour mark and I've received no other email confirmation. So hard to figure out what the next steps really are based on the original email.
I contacted Fitbit Support via twitter this morning who confirmed that another email will come through with the virtual card.
So I'll wait until later this afternoon and see what happens

The company that processed the return is called, "Sedgwick."
-----------------
Did you try calling fitbit?

That is why I am hesitant. The company that the ecard came from is not Sedgwick. The ecard is coming from a company called hawkmarketplace.com.

There is no customer support number available with in India, Fitbit requested me to contact customer care number of UK, but the call gets disconnected on own after some IVR voice
Already spend 1.5$ without any response from customer care
