Fitbit, in conjunction with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a voluntary recall of Fitbit Ionic smartwatches, which the company introduced in 2017 and stopped producing in 2020. The battery in the Ionic smartwatch can overheat, posing a burn hazard.
The health and safety of Fitbit users is our highest priority. We are taking this action out of an abundance of caution for our users. We will offer a refund to Fitbit Ionic customers.
This voluntary recall is specific to Fitbit Ionic devices. It does not impact any other Fitbit smartwatches or trackers.

Hey Benob, I'm in UK too, heard nothing about refund in 4 weeks! Have they refunded you in Dollars or GB Pounds?? I paid £299.00 GB Pounds for my Ionic at Argos, saw some comments saying Fitbit offering 229 US Dollars as Refund, seems some way short. Can you say how much you received??

i have actually received 2 virtual visa i can look up the balance on both of them no problem BUT I cannot spend them went to the discount store got all the way to payment and it rejects on both visa ( i had 2 on different accounts ) spoke to the 1800 ph for Australia told (mumbled) something about a problem wait a week . i tried the help on twitter after requesting several screenshots and details told to ring that 1800 number . i thought maybe its the fitbit store so tried another online store didn't work there either. Also only received 1 promo code that can only be used once but i want to use the other visa if i can get help as well

Had a Sense last year and same as this one. Fitbit support helped me last year looked at data and said faulty and exchange. I got money back and went back to Ionic buying a new charger and straps.
Would have thought they fixed problem in 8 maths but no.
My opinion is Fitbit Sense is dangerous to one's health.
Did workout and gee got one zone point and another got 7.when fitbit Ionic I get over 300 if not 500.
Don't buy a fitbit Sense.

Still haven't seen a discount code or anything Started this process on March 19. Contacted customer support several times and still no answer as to how to get the discount code to send to me. I guess I will just use it until someone gets back to me.

Hi All. I finally managed it & logged into the store. A bit of a faff! . I put my code in but had to do it twice as the first time it said it had been used or expired. I chose the Sense & a new white sports strap too. I did try to use the promo code when in the things were in the basked but it said it was invalid. When I checked it was 40% off anyway. Total was £132 and the sports strap was on back order & due in May the Sense watch was in stock. Now waiting for an email for the refund details.

Oops! Too late with the warning. I ordered it late Saturday evening Perth WA time. 😬 I just hope that I get lucky and are blessed with a good one.
I have to say I only had one spell of problems with my Ionic over the years. And in the end I read a tip in the Fitbit Community saying that when you do a reboot make sure that you hold the buttons in together for a full 10 seconds. Well it turned out that it did the trick. And all the issues I had been complaining about, like not holding charge very long, items not working properly etc - all came good and it stayed that way thereafter. So I was very sad to have to have my Ionic put down.
So if I have problems with my new Sense that I can't sort out for whatever reason then I will remember to do a proper reboot. I guess the smart watches are a bit like computers - a good reboot often fixes many problems. Here's hoping!

Raised a question about my iconic 4 weeks ago, I have the original receipt and the box however my iconic wont turn anymore hence I cant get a refund. The online chat never gets through, I have used twitter to communicate with them but am just told its been raised to the correct team. I well imagine they are busy but 4 weeks to wait for a reply is crazy. Well imagine that they are just going to try and forget about me! Terrible customer service.

I have got my Fitbit ionic refund to google play. Google play has very limited option to use the refund. How can i get the refund back into by bank account or get a discount coupon to purchase another fitbit watch ?

Got the Paypal refund on 30-Mar-22, but my account was unverified.
After I verified it, PayPal is saying India doesn't allow claiming such pending payments, and I should ask Fitbit to cancel the refund and send it again.
Tried chatting with Fitbit support, they asked me to call a London-based number. How the hell can they expect a person to call an international phone number to get their own refund to which they are entitled?

I received a redemption code via email for b4b payments,, I thought it was a scam,, no clear instructions,,, I tried to redeem this code for my ionic refund,, the b4b payments site says I am not on thier database and I cannot get through to anyone via customer services on this site!! No one via fitbit recall or b4 b are responding to my emails? How am I expected to register this redemption code that doesn’t work,, it been 5 days since I received the email and I’ve got no further,, very disappointing customer services all round,, fitbit ionic recall say it’s out of there hands now !!who can advise or reissue this refund code?

Has anyone from the U.S. received a rebate yet? I called the support number a week or so ago and the lady said they have received my Ionic even though the UPS app says it's still delayed in Plainfield IN. since the 12th of March. Just wondering if any U.S. people have heard anything from Sedgewick or Fitbit or have gotten their refund.
