Walk GPS Way Off

I have a Fitbit iconic and the GPS works fine for the run option, but when I put it to walk it does not work.  Example, today I walked for nearly an hour and it said I went less than a mile, not true, also it had my pace as 0 most of the time.  Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it?
