Wi-Fi connection only when charging

Hi all,

Over the holiday period I have been for a couple of runs using GPS and have been charging my Ionic whilst at home rather than at work.

As such, I noticed from my Unify Wi-Fi Controller that the Ionic only seems to connect when it is on charge rather than once or twice a day, or when I access certain apps as I had assumed.

The following screenshot shows my recent connections from Unify:

Does anyone know if this is as expected, or do I have a Wi-Fi connection issue?

Many thanks

@cc2k, you are correct that the WiFi is turned on only when requested by functions/apps that require the WiFi signal for updates, etc..  This is done to extend the battery life of the tracker.

Cheers @USAF-Larry for confirming that... Do you know what apps use the Ionic's built in Wi-Fi?

The reason I ask is that my Unify Controller only seems to shows connections a) when the Ionic is on charge and b) if I use the phone app to force a Wi-Fi connection - but here it always takes two attempts to connect.

Whilst I've only had my Ionic a few weeks I don't seem to see Wi-Fi connections under everyday usage.
