Fitbit Ionic clashes with Samsung Gear 2

I was wondering if anyone else has this situation and problem.

I've had a Samsung Gear 2 for a couple of years now, and it's my primary watch.  I've been having some problems getting my new Ionic to sync.  It hasn't been syncing and my phone keeps saying that it can't connect to the Ionic.  I just noticed that the only way that I can get it to work is if I disconnect my Gear from my phone.  The only thing that I could come up with is that they are both connected to the phone via Bluetooth.  The Gear has no problem with staying connected when the Ionic is connected.

Has anyone else with both a Fitbit Ionic and a Gear 2 seen this problem?

Oh, and my phone is a Galaxy Note 8.

Yep, i had also trouble to get the Ionic to work, but i had still the software of the Pebble AND the Samsung Gear Fit2 on my phone.

The watches were not connected.

But my problems disappeared after removing all the Pebble and Samsung software.

So my problem seems more a software than a BlueTooth problem.

Phone: Xiaomi Mi5 OS: Android 7.1/Lineage 14.1

That's unfortunate.  I'm definitely not getting rid of my Gear 2.
