So, although a quick google showed that since the Ionic's release, many people have had the same issue that I am currently having, none of the threads had an actual solution, so I thought i'd post in hopes there's been a fix;
So basically I received my Ionic today, and no matter where I go (i've tried 5 different WiFi), it just won't properly connect to any WiFi, and therefore I am unable to update the firmware (It's saying it will take 16 hours via bluetooth).
I've tried on 2.4GHz WiFi, WEP, WPA, WPA2 and no security settings. It 'connects' in the WiFi screen on the app, but as soon as it tries to update firmware, it disconnects.
From what I have read, it sounds like it doesn't actually connect for more than a few seconds, and that also updating the firmware to the latest solves the issue - however how do I update the firmware if I can't connect to WiFi in the first place to update it?
Any advice?

Do you have it on charge when you try to do the firmware upgrade?
I can only get my Ionic to connect to Wi-Fi automatically when it is charging or for a few seconds when using the option from the phone app.

I've tried both on and off of charge, for each of the WiFi I have tried (and each of the different security settings for each WiFi). No matter what I do, it connects for a moment, then disconnects again.
