Wildly inaccurate step count

I'm getting an issue where my Ionic is reporting wildly innacurate step counts in one part of the app, in the first image it shows 19,983 steps though the graph reflects much less (2,232, accurate count) and the device was on charge most of the day.

When clicking on the 19,983 steps area of the screen, it takes me to the below image showing a count of 2,232 with an identical graph of the previous image so I have no idea where this 19,983 number is coming from, i've never done that many steps in my life.

Please help

I’ve been having the same issue, but it happened randomly and only at night when I wasn’t wearing the watch. After extensive time talking with customer service and getting a replacement, the replacement had the same problem. They made me send back the replacement (presumably to look at and figure out the problem), but won’t send me a replacement (for the replacement) until receiving the old one. Looking through the forum posts (maybe someone found a solution?), it seems to be a persistent problem, but I haven’t seen any solutions so far.
