Hey everyone!
First, Let me apologize if I am posting this in the wrong area. I am new to the whole Fit Trackers and learning as I go.
Having an issue I am hoping those who have used the Ionic or perhaps the Versa also while doing workouts similar to Kickboxing, Boxing or anything involving throwing punches fairly consistently during there workout.
I have read the suggestions in the guides as far as watch placement being further up the wrist during such exercises and did that during my workout with the watch.
So my issue is getting the watch to not move or slide during jabs, hooks etc etc.
Mind you I have tightened the watch more with minimal results, put it closer to my wrist and tried different placements, watch tightness, looseness etc.
All with little success and to many times did I have to cut in between an exercise to adjust the watch.
So I am trying to think of solutions to address the issue and was thinking of a few ideas...
Obviously I think the first that came to mind was slowing down my punching speed during the throw and retraction, however I really would like that to be a last resort as I feel it 1. Takes awareness away from the actual workout to adjust to a speed that is in my mind a hinderance to the overall workout etc etc
Another would be a question to those who preferably have had the same issue with the standard out of the box band who then replaced it with another with better success???
I am wondering...Do the sport bands they sell for the Ionic known for a better grip on ones wrist or to close that it would still give me the same issues???
Also, been playing around with the idea of a separate band in front of the watch to give it extra support to keep it in place, certainly though I don't want to make that so tight that it effects and hinders the best heartrate statistic I would want.
With that I am wondering about sticky tape (lol, I know, hear me out haha)
1. A band that will actually stick to my skin better which would keep in place therefore holding the watch in place or two strips that I place inside the inner ring of the actual watch on both sides (something like placing a 3m adhesive strip on each side)
Beyond that I am at a loss unless I want to hurt my own workout which at that point the watch becomes an obstacle instead of an aid. 🤨
Also, I would like to point out the workout today was more of a shadow boxing type, no heavy bag etc.
So I am also thinking, if this is an issue now then I am really in trouble when hitting the bag...🙄
SO I am hoping to get any suggestions from anyone who has done SIMILIAR WORKOUTS or has a good idea to work around the issue???
Thanks for your time and good luck with your goals 😁

I don't do similar workouts but I was thinking of a sweatband to the wrist side of the tracker, like a elastic terrycloth band, but then I saw you were also thinking of a separate band there. But I don't know if it would really keep it in place but only cost a few $ to try.
Another possibility might be trying wearing it around ankle. That's not a fitbit-approved method but some use it with success. You would probably have to buy an extra-large band or a band extender, and want to wear it under sock to make sure it doesn't fall off.

You may actually try to put the watch under the sweatband to protect it from getting damaged ( such sports bring the risk ). This would also hold it in one position but probably you're gonna sweat a lot in that area. Putting a sweatband on your wrist before the watch should be alright, too. However, I recommend to change wrists and put the watch on your right one. It's because anything close to the Ionic's left button may accidentally press it and pause/finish your activity.

That’s a really interesting idea with the ankle option.
I am curious as to if it still can read your heart rate and if so how close it compares to the wrist statistic.
Thanks for the reply, I think I’ll do the easier option first with adding a sweatband or similar and see how that plays out.
Have a good one ☝️ 🙋🏻:male_sign:

I agree.
Im gonna try something like the sweatband idea and see how it plays out.
Worse can happen is I eliminate a possible solution and try something else or hopefully, it works out🤗
Have a good day 😎
