For anyone thinking about the Ionic, you may want to reconsider. The bands are prone to failing and Fitibit will not replace them over a year.
I have been a loyal customer for several different devices. With my Ionic I have been pleased but the strap came apart at 13 months. It unglued where the watch attaches to the strap. This was also an issue with my Charge HR. They just cannot seem to make a band that lasts.
Customer service told me the limit is 12 months for a replacement.
So essentially, despite the high price point on this unit, they consider a 12 month life span for an athletic wrist band acceptable.
Am disappointed that despite a clear design flaw they will not support their customers so I will likely be parting ways with Fitbit.

I'm very sorry to see that you've experienced trouble with the wristband of your Ionic. It is particularly difficult when the device is no longer covered by the warranty, but even though Support is eager to help with any problem you may experience with the product, they do need to adhere to the official warranty policy, this would start counting from the original date of purchase.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding the quality and the availability of wristbands; comments from users are always useful to continue to improving the quality of products and services.

Best AnswerWhat’s really difficult, is being told it’s reasonable that you need to buy your high end 350$ athletic watch replacement parts just after a year.
And worse, when you have been brand loyal for several watches.
When profit margins matter more than delivering a dependable product, it’s shameful.
Best AnswerMy Ionic wrist band failed where it attaches to the watch and was quickly replaced by FitBit, i'm sure it was over 1 year, although it does have a 2 year warranty (UK).
You can by replacements off Amazon, I also have a leather strap for occasional use.
