The one on the left is a "Back" button and the others vary depending on what the fitbit is doing at the time. Best thing to do is to check out page 15 onwards of the manual at https://staticcs.fitbit.com/content/assets/help/manuals/manual_ionic_en_US.pdf for an explanation.
