Hi I am currently doing a project for college, it involves getting access to the heart data from my fitbit ionic. i have looked through the vast expanse that is the interweb for solutions and workarounds, thus far I have found none that work. is there any examples of how to do this?

@davielong86 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Sounds like a cool project!

It is not possible to do it from the Ionic itself. However, it is possible for you to have access to your previous days heart rate data, please do the following:

  • Open the Fitbit App.
  • Click the resting heart rate tile (the one with a heart on it).
  • Right there, you will see the different heart rate readings you have had in the past. If you want to see details about one, please tap it for the graph to appear. Then, tap the graph again for it to expand. If you tap the different pikes on the graph you will see the different readings and the time of the day they were recorded.

Hope this is what you are looking for for your project.

Let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy

@davielong86To add to @SantiR if you are looking for more HR pulses you create a Custom Activity on the PC and use that..If you use it on the phone it fills in the Calories automatically. On the PC you need to estimate the calories..

Otherwise can you advise the forum as to your aim with the Project...?

Here is an example of a sleep cycle where I drill down onto two sections..  We are currently getting 24 HR points/minute with this method..

I would also check the SDK forum here. Developers are pulling the current heart rate to display on custom watch faces.
