Can someone please tell me how to contact online support without having to set up a Twitter account,what an absolute joke

The available options are at contact.fitbit.com 

 

Depending on when you go there you may also see phone or web chat but those options are only shown when they are available. So, rather than set up twitter you could just try later.

 

As I type this phone and web chat is available in the UK.
