My husband had a sudden death experience in August with his fitbit ionic. It just quit working. It seemed to charge but just wouldn't turn on and work. I looked under the why my battery is not charging and how to clean my fitbit. My husband followed the directions for cleaning which was to use a toothbrush with rubbing alcohol on the fitbit probes and a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol on the probes on the charging cord. Be sure to dry. He also went on his ipad and updated the software for his ionic. He plugged his fitbit in for charging and let it charge for a while and turned it on and it lit up. He continued for a full charge and it's totally working now. Hope this can help someone else. He thinks it was mostly the updating of the software that solved the problem.
